Research within the CLI is organized around four research pillars which encompass the multidisciplinary character of climate and livability research, while also addressing the areas of highest priority for the Kingdom and the region. These pillars also expand upon existing KAUST strengths and expertise in areas of climate modeling, terrestrial and marine ecology, water and food security, digital transformation and high performance computing, smart (and livable) cities, circular carbon economy, and sustainability science.
